Yumi’s Cells Season 1 follows the life of Kim Yu Mi, an ordinary office worker whose thoughts and emotions are controlled by a lively network of cells inside her mind. After a painful breakup leaves her love cell in a coma, Yu Mi struggles to reconnect with her feelings and move forward. Everything begins to change when she meets Koo Woong, an awkward but sincere game developer who has trouble expressing his emotions. As his feelings for Yu Mi grow, his own cells help awaken hers, slowly bringing her heart back to life. Blending romance, humor, and insight into the inner workings of the mind, Yumi’s Cells explores whether two imperfect people—and their hardworking cells—can overcome past wounds and find lasting love.
