Jennie’s “Less than a Lover” Tops iTunes Charts in 27 Regions Following Release
July 25, 2026

BLACKPINK's Jennie is off to a strong start with her new digital single "Less than a Lover," which is already climbing music charts around the world just one day after its release.
According to her agency OA Entertainment, the song reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 27 countries and regions after being released on July 24 at 1 p.m. KST. Among the countries where the track topped the chart are the Philippines, Indonesia, and Brazil.
The agency also noted that "Less than a Lover" has achieved the widest No. 1 reach of any K-pop solo song released this year, highlighting the song's strong international reception.
Jennie's latest single also performed exceptionally well in China, reaching No. 1 on three of the country's largest music streaming platforms:
- QQ Music
- NetEase Cloud Music
- Kugou Music
On QQ Music, the song additionally earned a Gold Certification, reflecting its strong sales and popularity among listeners.
The music video also attracted immediate attention upon release, debuting at No. 1 on YouTube's Worldwide Music Video Trending chart. It also claimed the top spot on YouTube's Trending Videos in both South Korea and the United States.
In South Korea, "Less than a Lover" debuted at No. 2 on Melon's HOT100 chart, while also entering the upper ranks of the Apple Music Top Songs charts in countries including Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos.
Jennie participated in both the lyrics and composition of "Less than a Lover."
The alternative pop track explores the complicated emotions of a relationship that exists somewhere between friendship and romance, reflected in the title itself. Musically, the song blends lo-fi guitar textures with vintage electric keyboard sounds, creating a warm, nostalgic atmosphere.
Jennie also took a hands-on role in the song's visual presentation by participating in the creative direction of the music video.
The successful release follows Jennie's recent collaboration with Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala on the single "Dracula," which spent two consecutive weeks at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, further cementing her success as a solo artist.
Jennie is next scheduled to headline Lollapalooza Chicago on August 1 in Chicago's Grant Park. She will also perform at SUMMER SONIC 2026, taking the stage in Tokyo on August 14 and Osaka on August 16.
