Kim Sung Cheol In Talks to Star in New Drama “Sleeping Doctor” Alongside Jin Ki Joo

Kim Sung Cheol may soon be joining forces with Jin Ki Joo in an upcoming drama project.

On February 9, a report from MyDaily revealed that Kim Sung Cheol is being considered for the lead role in the new human romantic-comedy series “Sleeping Doctor” (working title).

In response to the report, a representative from his agency, Story J Company, shared that he has received an offer and is currently reviewing it.

“Sleeping Doctor” is described as a human romantic comedy centered on Hong Gyeong, a psychiatrist burdened by the trauma of a past sexual assault. After believing she has moved beyond her painful memories, she opens the private clinic she has always dreamed of. However, she suddenly develops narcolepsy, causing her to fall asleep whenever she meets patients, which threatens both her career and livelihood. Her journey toward recovery begins when she encounters Nam Ji Oh, a gifted freelance doctor known for his vast medical knowledge and remarkable memory, who gradually helps her step out from the shadows of her past.

Kim Sung Cheol has reportedly been offered the role of Nam Ji Oh, a freelance physician at a mental health clinic celebrated for his sharp intellect and encyclopedic medical expertise. Jin Ki Joo is currently in discussions to portray Hong Gyeong, the director of Healer Mental Health Clinic.

The drama is expected to deliver emotionally cathartic moments as the protagonist confronts sexual offenders with direct and unapologetic honesty, building toward a powerful sense of justice. Alongside this, the story will highlight a mature romance rooted in mutual healing, as the two leads support one another in reclaiming their strength.
