Park Min Young and BTOB's Yook Sungjae Reportedly Cast as Leads in New Romance Drama Nine to Six
January 6, 2026

According to an exclusive report released on January 6, actors Park Min-young and Yook Sungjae are set to star in the upcoming romance drama Nine to Six.
Nine to Six tells the story of a woman who has devoted herself entirely to her career, putting love on hold for years, and the changes she experiences after meeting a warm and thoughtful man. Through their relationship, the drama explores themes of work, love, personal growth, and the ways people become part of one another's past and future. The series is based on the 2020 Chinese drama The Rational Life. While the project was previously known by its original title, it has now officially been renamed Nine to Six.
Park Min Young has reportedly been cast as Kang Yi Ji, the head of the legal team at an automobile company. A dedicated workaholic, Yi Ji has long pushed marriage and romance to the bottom of her priorities. Though not opposed to marriage itself, she views love and relationships as little more than the result of hormones. Practical and rational, she prefers quiet perseverance over emotional reactions when facing unfair situations.
Yook Sungjae is expected to play Han Sun Woo, a jewelry designer and law school graduate. Gifted with his hands, he excels at everything from cooking to design. Calm, mature, and dependable beyond his years, Sun Woo is described as the kind of considerate and caring man many women dream of dating—someone who acts before he thinks when it comes to protecting the person he loves.
This will mark the first drama collaboration between Park Min Young and Yook Sungjae. Park Min Young is already well known for her chemistry with younger co-stars in dramas such as What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, When the Weather Is Fine, and Forecasting Love and Weather.
The drama will be produced by Samhwa Networks and directed by Lee Hyung-min, known for works such as Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Miracle That We Met, and Miss Night and Day. The drama is currently slated to air on SBS.
