Nizi Project Season 2 drew over 10,000 applicants from auditions held across 8 cities in Japan, as well as Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul, South Korea — making NEXZ's seven-member lineup the result of one of the largest idol audition pools in recent Japanese pop history. NEXZ are considered NiziU's "brother group" within the Nizi Project family — NiziU having been formed through the original Nizi Project Season 1 in 2020 under the same JYP and Sony Music partnership, creating a rare cross-gender sibling group dynamic in the J-pop world. None of NEXZ's seven members have a birthday in the summer months of June, July, or August — a statistical quirk the members themselves have noted and find endlessly amusing given that several of them name summer as their favorite season. Source: NamuWiki KProfiles
Every year, the NEXZ members hold a Christmas gift exchange ceremony — a tradition they started in 2023 before their debut, and continued in 2024 after officially debuting, documenting it as a group vlog for fans. Source: NamuWiki KProfiles
Although all members are Japanese and were formed through a Japanese survival show, NEXZ primarily promotes as a Korean group under JYP Entertainment — a crossover positioning that makes them one of the most distinctly bicultural acts currently active in the K-pop industry.
