SEVENTEEN's DK and Vernon to Enlist in the Military This August and September

The agency confirmed that DK will complete all of his scheduled official activities before entering the military. Because many recruits and their families will be present at the enlistment site, fans have been asked not to visit the ceremony in person.

Vernon will begin his military service earlier, with his enlistment scheduled for August 20.

Unlike DK, Vernon will serve through alternative military service, though PLEDIS did not disclose additional details regarding his assignment. The company similarly requested that fans refrain from visiting both his enlistment ceremony and his place of service.

Once their military service begins, both DK and Vernon will temporarily step away from participating in SEVENTEEN's group promotions and performances.

However, PLEDIS assured fans that the two members have prepared a variety of pre-recorded content that will continue to be released during their absence, allowing them to stay connected with CARATs throughout their service.

Fans were also encouraged to leave messages of support for both members through Weverse.

DK and Vernon's enlistments continue SEVENTEEN's gradual military enlistment schedule.

Rather than having every member enlist at once, PLEDIS has staggered the members' service periods to allow SEVENTEEN to continue promoting in various forms whenever possible. Earlier members, including Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi, have already begun their military service, while additional members are expected to enlist over the coming months. The group's long-term plan remains a full reunion in 2028 after all members have completed their military obligations.

PLEDIS Entertainment's Full Statement

"DK is scheduled to enlist for active duty in the Army on September 8. Vernon will begin his military service on August 20. Both members will participate in all official activities before their service begins. Once they start military service, they will be unable to participate in SEVENTEEN activities, but they will continue to connect with CARAT through various content prepared in advance. We ask for your continued love and support until they complete their service and return in good health."

PLEDIS also requested that fans refrain from visiting either enlistment location in person out of consideration for other recruits and their families.

As another two members begin this important chapter, CARATs around the world are expected to spend the coming weeks sending their well wishes before DK and Vernon temporarily step away from the spotlight.
