Born Lee Seok Min on February 18, 1997, in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, DK discovered his passion for music during middle school after watching a performance by legendary Korean rock band YB Band on television. Inspired by their powerful live vocals, he initially dreamed of becoming a rock singer and even performed in a middle school rock band before deciding to pursue idol training. Unlike many of his fellow members, DK joined Pledis Entertainment by successfully passing a public audition, earning his place through open competition.
DK debuted with SEVENTEEN on May 26, 2015, quickly establishing himself as one of K-pop's strongest main vocalists. Beyond the main group, he serves as the leader of BSS (BooSeokSoon), SEVENTEEN's energetic performance sub-unit. He later expanded his activities by debuting in the duo DK X Seungkwan with the mini album Serenade in January 2026. In addition to his idol career, DK has built a successful reputation as a musical theater actor, beginning with his acclaimed starring role as King Arthur in Xcalibur.
