Born Jeon Won Woo on July 17, 1996, in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea, Wonwoo never originally planned to become an idol. He auditioned for Pledis Entertainment in 2011 simply to gain experience, never expecting to pass. Instead, the audition changed the direction of his life, leading him to become a trainee and eventually debut with SEVENTEEN. Before his official debut, he also gained valuable stage experience performing as a backup dancer for fellow Pledis artists including NU'EST, HELLOVENUS, and Orange Caramel.
Wonwoo officially debuted with SEVENTEEN on May 26, 2015, as a member of the Hip-Hop Team. Known for his deep voice, calm demeanor, and thoughtful songwriting, he has become one of the group's most respected rappers. In 2024, he formed the special unit Jeonghan X Wonwoo, releasing the single album This Man. The following year, Wonwoo began his mandatory military service as a public service worker, becoming the second SEVENTEEN member to enlist while continuing to share music with fans through special releases like his birthday single "Gogae."
Fan-made pieces inspired by drama nights, bias feelings, and soft delulu moods.
Wonwoo often gives off a cool and mysterious first impression thanks to his deep voice, quiet personality, and naturally serious expression. However, fans quickly discover that behind his calm exterior is someone who is incredibly thoughtful, gentle, and quietly affectionate toward both his members and CARATs. His dry sense of humor and unexpectedly cute moments have become some of his biggest charms.
Fans also admire Wonwoo's artistic side. Whether writing lyrics, recommending books, discussing photography, or expressing himself through music, he approaches his work with sincerity and introspection. His ability to balance quiet confidence with genuine warmth has made him one of SEVENTEEN's most beloved members.
