Born Lee Chan on February 11, 1999, in Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea, Dino was practically born into dance. His parents met while performing on a college dance team, and his father later opened a dance academy where he personally trained Dino from a young age. Growing up surrounded by dance, Dino developed exceptional performance skills early in life and even appeared on several children's television programs before pursuing an idol career. In 2012, he was discovered by Pledis Entertainment during a dance competition in Jeonju and officially became a trainee.
Dino debuted with SEVENTEEN on May 26, 2015, as the group's main dancer and youngest member (maknae). Despite being the youngest, he quickly earned praise for his mature work ethic, technical precision, and commanding stage presence. Outside of group promotions, Dino has continued developing as an artist through solo projects, releasing his first solo mixtape, Wait, in 2023. He has also expanded into broadcasting, taking over as the host of a weekly radio program introducing new musicians after Jeonghan stepped down.
