Born Boo Seung Kwan on January 16, 1998, in Busan, South Korea, Seungkwan was raised on Jeju Island, where his exceptional singing talent became evident at an early age. His big break came after a teacher recorded him performing at a school song festival and uploaded the video online. The performance caught the attention of talent scouts and eventually led to an audition. Although he also received an offer from JYP Entertainment, Seungkwan chose to join Pledis Entertainment in June 2012, believing it was the best place to pursue his dream.
