Zhao Lusi Makes Producer Debut With New Chinese Drama 'Sonder: Wo Jiu Bu Shi NPC'

Sonder: Wo Jiu Bu Shi NPC officially premiered on October 11 at 7 p.m. China Standard Time through Douyin, China's popular short-video platform.

Unlike traditional Chinese dramas that typically premiere on streaming services such as Tencent Video, iQIYI, or Youku, Zhao Lusi's production is being distributed exclusively through Douyin. The series also takes a different approach to the increasingly popular short-drama format.

While many Chinese micro-dramas feature vertically filmed episodes lasting only a few minutes, Sonder uses a horizontal widescreen format with episodes reportedly running approximately 40 minutes.

The production consists of four interconnected stories set within a shared fictional universe, each featuring a different female protagonist.
