Meet Jihoon of TREASURE: discover the Korean singer's age, height, zodiac, background, YG Treasure Box journey, co-leader role, dancing, personality, hobbies and fun facts.
Park Jihoon (박지훈), known professionally as Jihoon, is a South Korean singer, dancer and co-leader of the K-pop boy group TREASURE under YG Entertainment. He was born on March 14, 2000, in Busan, South Korea, and developed an interest in performing while growing up. His journey to TREASURE was far from straightforward: Jihoon trained under YG Entertainment before leaving the company, continued developing his dance skills elsewhere, and later returned to compete on the 2018 survival program YG Treasure Box. Although he was not initially selected for the first TREASURE lineup, he was later announced as a member of MAGNUM, a second planned group consisting of contestants from the program. YG eventually combined the two teams into TREASURE, and Jihoon officially debuted on August 7, 2020, with The First Step: Chapter One and its title track "BOY."
Within TREASURE, Jihoon shares leadership responsibilities with Choi Hyunsuk while also contributing as a vocalist and dancer. His confident speaking style, quick humor and ability to keep conversations moving have made him particularly suited to interviews and variety appearances. In 2021, he became an MC for SBS's Inkigayo alongside NCT's Sungchan and IVE's Yujin, giving him experience hosting one of South Korea's major weekly music programs. Jihoon is also known for his energetic personality, athletic interests and playful tendency to tease his fellow TREASURE members. His eventual position as co-leader is particularly notable considering that his first period at YG ended without a debut; after leaving and returning, he ultimately became one of the members responsible for guiding the group.

Jihoon's full name is Park Jihoon (박지훈), and he was born on March 14, 2000, in Busan, South Korea. His Busan background occasionally becomes noticeable through his accent, particularly when he relaxes into the regional dialect around the members.
• Jihoon's first attempt to become a YG artist didn't lead directly to TREASURE. He trained under YG before leaving the company, meaning there was a period when his future with the agency—and his eventual debut there—appeared to be over.
• After leaving YG, Jihoon continued pursuing dance instead of abandoning entertainment altogether. He trained at dance academies and remained focused on performing, which eventually helped prepare him for another opportunity with the company.
• Jihoon returned to YG through YG Treasure Box and essentially had to prove himself again. Unlike trainees whose path consisted of joining the company and remaining there until debut, his journey involved leaving, continuing to train independently and then fighting for another opportunity.
• He wasn't originally selected for TREASURE's first seven-member lineup. Jihoon was instead announced as a member of MAGNUM, the second boy group YG planned to create from YG Treasure Box contestants.
• TREASURE and MAGNUM were originally intended to promote separately while also joining together as TREASURE 13. Those plans changed before debut, and the members were eventually reorganized into the single group TREASURE.
• Jihoon became one of TREASURE's two leaders alongside Choi Hyunsuk. The arrangement is unusual compared with groups that designate only one leader and allows the responsibilities of managing a large team to be shared between them.
• He is younger than Hyunsuk but has a noticeably assertive leadership style. Jihoon is comfortable speaking up, directing conversations and keeping the other members organized, while his humor prevents his leadership persona from becoming overly formal.
• Jihoon is known as one of TREASURE's biggest teasers. He frequently jokes with the members, imitates them or deliberately provokes funny reactions, making his mischievous personality particularly visible in TREASURE MAP and other unscripted content.
• He has also described teasing the members as one of the ways he shows affection. His tendency to bother people he is comfortable with means some of his funniest interactions happen with the members he is closest to.
• Jihoon became an MC for SBS's Inkigayo in 2021, hosting the weekly music program alongside NCT's Sungchan and An Yujin. The position allowed him to develop live hosting skills outside TREASURE's normal promotional activities.
• His Inkigayo experience showed a different side of his performance skills. Rather than memorizing choreography or song lyrics, Jihoon had to deliver scripts, interview artists, react naturally on live television and keep broadcasts moving smoothly.
• Jihoon has extensive dance experience and was involved with dance training even during periods when he wasn't a YG trainee. His persistence with dance was one of the things that kept him connected to the entertainment industry while his future remained uncertain.
• He has been particularly associated with powerful and energetic dancing rather than a delicate performance style. Jihoon's movements often match his naturally high-energy personality, especially during TREASURE's harder-hitting choreography.
• Jihoon enjoys exercising and is one of TREASURE's members most closely associated with working out. His interest in physical fitness became increasingly noticeable after debut as he developed a more muscular physique than he had during YG Treasure Box.
• He enjoys sports and physical activities, which makes the competitive games on TREASURE's variety programs especially entertaining. Jihoon tends to become genuinely invested rather than treating competitions as casually staged idol content.
• Jihoon is a dog lover and has frequently expressed affection for animals. His softer reactions around pets provide a noticeable contrast with the relentless teasing he directs toward his fellow TREASURE members.
• He has cited BIGBANG as an important influence, connecting him to the YG artists who inspired several members of TREASURE before they ever became trainees themselves.
• Jihoon has also shown an appreciation for rock music and powerful vocal performances. His musical interests aren't restricted to the polished pop sound typically associated with idol groups, something reflected in the intensity he brings to TREASURE's live stages.
• His confidence on variety shows makes it easy to forget that Jihoon's debut was uncertain for years. He experienced leaving YG, returning as a contestant and failing to make the first announced lineup before eventually being selected for MAGNUM and then TREASURE.
• Jihoon and Hyunsuk approach leadership differently, which helps explain why TREASURE uses two leaders. Hyunsuk is the group's eldest member and heavily involved with its rap and songwriting identity, while Jihoon's communication skills and assertiveness make him particularly effective at keeping a large group organized.
• He has often acted as one of TREASURE's unofficial spokespeople during interviews and group content. Jihoon's willingness to answer quickly and prevent awkward silences makes him valuable when ten personalities have to navigate the same conversation.
• Jihoon's career effectively brought him back to the company that had once let him go. Instead of his departure from YG ending his idol ambitions, he returned, survived another uncertain selection process and ultimately debuted as one of TREASURE's leaders.
