Bang Chan, born Christopher Chahn Bahng, is a South Korean-Australian singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer best known as the leader of Stray Kids. Although he was born in Seoul, South Korea, he spent most of his childhood in Sydney, Australia, where he developed a passion for music, dance, swimming, and performance. He is fluent in both English and Korean and is known for bridging cultures within the global K-pop community.

At just 13 years old, Bang Chan passed JYP Entertainment's Australian audition and moved to South Korea alone to pursue his dream of becoming an idol. He trained for approximately seven years, one of the longest trainee periods in JYP Entertainment history, before finally debuting. During his trainee years, he trained alongside future members of TWICE, GOT7, DAY6, and many other successful artists.

Before Stray Kids debuted, Bang Chan formed the producing team 3RACHA alongside Changbin and Han. When JYP launched the survival show that would create Stray Kids, Bang Chan personally selected the members he wanted in the group, making Stray Kids one of the few idol groups built around a leader's vision rather than solely by company executives.
