Moka (모카) is a Japanese singer and member of ILLIT under BELIFT LAB. Learn about her age, birthday, height, blood type, MBTI, R U Next? journey, debut story, personality, fun facts, and more.
Born Sakai Moka (さかい もか) on October 8, 2004, in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan, Moka grew up as the eldest of two daughters in a household where K-pop wasn't a foreign concept at all. Her mother was already a devoted BIGBANG fan, and it was through her mom's music taste that Moka first fell in love with the genre. She began developing her performance skills at Dance School BRIDGE in Fukuoka, building a strong foundation in dance long before she ever set foot in a training room.
In September 2020, Moka joined HYBE Labels Japan (then Big Hit Japan) as a trainee, relocating to Korea to pursue her idol dream in earnest. She trained for three and a half years before entering Belift Lab's R U Next? survival show in June 2023, where she ranked fifth in the finale and secured her spot in ILLIT. She debuted with the group on March 25, 2024, with Super Real Me bringing with her the clean dance lines, quiet elegance, and gentle warmth that would quickly make her one of the group's most beloved members.
Fan-made pieces inspired by drama nights, bias feelings, and soft delulu moods.

Moka is the kind of person who makes everyone around her feel taken care of, which is exactly why her members call her ILLIT's "mother." She is calm and nurturing by nature, described as timid with new people but deeply caring once she lets someone in. She is the member who relieves stress by calling her mom, who sets five alarms and still manages to fall back asleep, who openly admits she would sneak around invisible just to eavesdrop on what fans say about her. That mix of softness and quiet mischief is completely irresistible to GLLITs.
What makes Moka especially magnetic — no pun intended — is the gap between how she carries herself on stage and who she actually is off it. On stage, she is precise and graceful. Off stage, she's the girl who compares herself to a hamster, dreams of owning a cat, and considers a financier cake one of life's great pleasures. She brings a steadiness to ILLIT that the group leans on, and her fans wouldn't trade it for anything.
