Yuna was born in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Her interest in K-pop began thanks to her older sister, who was a devoted fan of BTOB. While accompanying her sister to the 2015 KBS Song Festival simply as a spectator, Yuna caught the attention of a JYP Entertainment casting manager in the audience and was handed a business card—an unexpected moment that launched her entertainment career.
