XODIAC

XODIAC is a genuinely multinational K-pop group, with six members from South Korea, Zayyan from Indonesia and Sing and Leo from Hong Kong. Their different cultural and linguistic backgrounds have become an important part of the group's identity and international activities.

Before XODIAC existed in its current form, the members were part of the much larger OCJ Newbies trainee project. The project introduced numerous trainees before the final nine-member lineup was selected to officially debut as XODIAC.

The members didn't all arrive at JACSO Entertainment through the same path. Hyunsik has explained that they joined through auditions, casting and competition, eventually surviving the selection process that brought the nine of them together.

XODIAC was designed with a flexible member system, meaning every release does not necessarily have to feature the exact same combination of members. Different members can participate depending on the song, concept and individual strengths they want to highlight.

That flexible concept appeared almost immediately after debut. While all nine promoted "Throw A Dice," the follow-up song "Always" featured only Lex, Hyunsik, Beomsoo, Gyumin and Sing, showing early on that XODIAC intended to experiment with different member combinations.

XODIAC's multinational lineup isn't merely cosmetic. The members have talked about using their different nationalities, languages, personalities and individual talents to create different "colors" depending on which members are combined for a particular project.

Several XODIAC members already had significant entertainment experience before debut. Lex competed on SBS's LOUD, Hyunsik appeared on Produce X 101, and Zayyan competed on both Rising Star Indonesia and Indonesian Idol before their paths eventually converged in XODIAC.

The group also contains members with very different pre-debut specialties. Lex came from a contemporary dance background, Davin had experience with dance teams and busking, while other members focused heavily on vocals, rap or practical music before becoming idols.

XODIAC worked deliberately on their relationship before debut. Lex revealed that the members held sessions they called "Voice of Our Hearts," where they openly discussed their feelings with one another so the nine members could understand each other better and build stronger teamwork.

Living together has produced some memorable bonding experiences as well. Leo once revealed that when lights began mysteriously flickering in their dorm, several members became too frightened to sleep alone, so they gathered their belongings and squeezed together into one small room for the night.

XODIAC's official greeting is "X! Beyond the World! Hello, we are XODIAC!" The phrase reinforces the group's space-inspired identity and their ambition to reach audiences beyond one country or market.

The members have described themselves using very different imagery. Wain chose the 🤩 emoji because he wants people to have stars in their eyes when they see XODIAC, while Sing chose 🔥 because he believes the members share a fiery determination to achieve their goals.

XODIAC attracted attention from the fashion industry even before officially debuting, participating in international magazine shoots and wearing pieces from major luxury brands. That early exposure helped earn them a reputation as fashion-focused rookies alongside their musical activities.

In 2025, XODIAC expanded its flexible-group concept by launching X-UNIT, initially consisting of Lex, Hyunsik, Sing and Leo. The unit debuted with To.U and gave the members an opportunity to emphasize vocals, ballads and softer musical styles.

XODIAC's fandom, X-BLISS, now has an official global fan club. JACSO Entertainment launched official global membership recruitment in 2025, giving fans access to membership cards and exclusive content.

The group began developing a more elaborate fictional storyline through "Alibi," featuring a prince-and-vampire concept, before expanding that narrative with their third mini album PHANTOM FIRE in 2026.

Released on June 2, 2026, PHANTOM FIRE continues that storyline by depicting previously opposing forces forming an alliance after the appearance of a mysterious flame, giving XODIAC a more developed fantasy-based universe alongside their music.

The title track "Phantom Fire" blends drum and bass, Jersey club and trap elements with a strong synth bass and groove, continuing XODIAC's tendency to experiment rather than remain tied to a single K-pop sound.

XODIAC's music has ranged considerably since debut, moving between hip-hop, acoustic R&B, energetic pop, ballads and more experimental dance sounds. Hyunsik has said that he hopes listeners can experience different emotions through the variety of genres the group performs.

Rather than defining success only through numbers, the members have repeatedly talked about wanting XODIAC to become a group fans are proud to support. Sing has specifically said he wants fans to feel proud when telling other people that they like XODIAC.
