Davin

Davin's full name is Kim Dabin (김다빈), and he was born on May 30, 2002, in Mapo, Seoul, South Korea. He is an only child and grew up with his parents before eventually pursuing a career in dance and music.

Dance was part of Davin's life before XODIAC, and he was a member of Vroad Dance Academy's dance team. His experience there gave him opportunities to perform dance covers and develop the skills that would later become one of his defining strengths as an idol.

Davin also participated in busking and public dance performances before debut, meaning performing in front of an audience wasn't entirely new to him when he finally stepped onto a K-pop stage with XODIAC.

Of the different styles he has practiced, Davin says he feels particularly comfortable with hip-hop freestyle. That preference fits his role in XODIAC because it allows him to combine his background as a dancer with the group's hip-hop influences.

He doesn't only enjoy learning choreography created by other people. Davin likes making his own choreography during his free time and has expressed an interest in becoming more involved with choreography as his career develops.

If Davin ever started his own YouTube channel, he would want it to focus on dance. Considering how much of his pre-debut and idol career has revolved around dancing, he already has a pretty clear idea of what kind of content he'd make.

Davin also has experience creating content for an audience from before his official debut. He posted dance covers on TikTok as a trainee, and secondary profile sources report that his account had built a sizable following before XODIAC launched.

Dance isn't his only freestyle skill. Davin can also freestyle rap, giving him a creative outlet that combines two of the areas he contributes to most within XODIAC: dancing and rapping.

His musical involvement has expanded since debut. Davin received a lyric-writing credit on XODIAC's 2025 song "Alibi," marking a step toward contributing to the group's music behind the scenes as well as performing it onstage.

Davin's special talent is doing an impression of South Korean rapper Simon Dominic. It's a fitting choice for someone who works as a rapper himself, although an accurate Simon Dominic impression probably isn't the talent most fans would guess from watching his dance performances.

He has a surprisingly organized approach to his day and says he likes to plan his schedule mentally. Rather than necessarily writing everything down, Davin prefers arranging what he needs to do in his head.

When XODIAC were asked what they wanted to experience while visiting Europe, Davin said it would be his first time in Europe and that he wanted to try busking there while experiencing the cultures of different countries.

The European busking answer is particularly fitting for Davin because it connects directly to his pre-debut experience performing publicly. Even after becoming an idol, he was still interested in returning to the kind of spontaneous public performance environment he experienced as a dancer.

Davin spent approximately two years training before XODIAC's debut, but those trainee years came on top of his earlier dance experience, so his preparation as a performer began well before he entered the group's final lineup.

He was first publicly introduced through OCJ Newbies in June 2022, months before XODIAC's official debut. He was later formally confirmed as part of XODIAC's lineup in March 2023 ahead of the group's debut.

Davin participated in XODIAC's pre-debut song "Calling," giving fans a chance to see him perform as part of the group's activities before "Throw A Dice" officially launched their career.

In February 2024, Davin temporarily paused his activities for personal reasons. The hiatus lasted roughly two months, and he officially returned to XODIAC's activities on April 30, 2024.

His nickname "Darangdongi" (다랑동이) is one of the names associated with him among fans and adds a much softer contrast to the intense image he can project as one of XODIAC's strongest dancers.

Davin's dance background and interest in choreography mean that his long-term potential isn't limited to performing. Between freestyle dance, creating choreography, rap and lyric writing, he has gradually shown an interest in several different parts of the creative process behind an idol performance.
