Background
Zo Doohyun (조두현), known professionally as Lex (렉스), is a South Korean singer, dancer and leader of the K-pop boy group XODIAC. He was born on March 16, 2000, in Waegwan, Chilgok, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. Before becoming a K-pop idol, Lex built an extensive background in contemporary dance and went on to study dance at the prestigious Korea National University of Arts. In 2021, he competed under his birth name on the SBS survival program LOUD, where his dance abilities helped him advance through the competition and join JYP Entertainment's team before he was ultimately eliminated during the final stages.
Lex later joined One Cool Jacso's pre-debut project OCJ Newbies and was selected as the leader of XODIAC. The group officially debuted on April 25, 2023, with "Throw A Dice." In addition to leading the group, Lex serves as a dance leader and uses his contemporary dance experience to help the members improve their performances. He has said that he analyzes how he can help the other members while they practice and hopes to eventually have the opportunity to direct choreography for one of XODIAC's concerts.

Lex's real name is Zo Doohyun (조두현), and he was born on March 16, 2000.
He was born in Waegwan, Chilgok, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and has described himself as "a courageous man from the countryside."
Lex grew up with two older sisters, making him the youngest of three siblings.
Before pursuing K-pop, Lex was deeply involved in contemporary dance and competed in dance competitions.
He studied dance at the prestigious Korea National University of Arts (K-ARTS). He reportedly earned admission after having studied dance for only around four to five years.
Lex competed on the 2021 SBS survival show LOUD under his real name, Zo Doohyun.
During LOUD, he earned the nickname "Phoenix Doohyun" because of his persistence throughout the competition.
Lex made it onto JYP Entertainment's team during LOUD and survived until the final stages of the competition before being eliminated.
His experience on LOUD helped him become more confident in himself. He compared the show to a staircase or stepping stone that helped him move forward.
Lex also had the opportunity to participate in choreography during LOUD, giving him creative experience before XODIAC's debut.
His dance background continues to influence XODIAC. As the group's leader and dance leader, Lex says he thinks about how he can help the other members practice and create stronger performances.
One of his future goals is to become the choreography director for a XODIAC concert.
Lex enjoys cooking and is considered a good cook. His other interests include singing, contemporary dance and Nanta, a Korean percussion performance style.
He can handle very spicy food, and one of his favorite foods is malatang, the spicy Chinese hot pot-style dish.
Lex has said that sleeping helps him relieve stress, making rest one of his ways of recharging when things become overwhelming.
