Background
Carmen, born Nyoman Ayu Carmenita on March 28, 2006, grew up in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, as the third of four children. She was raised in a creative household—her father, Putu Gede Suastika, and her mother, singer Ayu Handayani, also operate a restaurant and a multi-arts studio in Bali. Carmen's dream of becoming a K-pop idol began after watching Girls' Generation's "The Boys" music video.
